How do I know what ring size I need?
Use the ring size guide: it has the UK, US and millimetre conversion chart and three ways to measure at home. If you have nothing to measure, a reusable ring sizer is £3, posted. You can also pop into a jeweller and ask them nicely to measure your finger.
Please use UK sizing (letters E to Z+), not US numbers or EU millimetres — it saves a lot of confusion.
What if my ring doesn't fit?
Don't worry, I can resize it. Get in touch and I'll send you the address to post it to. Resizing usually takes me about 10 working days from receipt. If you ordered the wrong size, there's a small charge for resizing; if I made it wrong, I'll fix it free of charge.
How do I know what bangle size I need?
Either measure the diameter of a bangle you already wear, or tuck your thumb into your palm (as if you're putting one on) and measure the widest part of your hand. My bangles come in three sizes:
- Small — 6 cm diameter (≈ 18 cm circumference)
- Medium — 6.5 cm diameter (≈ 20 cm circumference)
- Large — 7 cm diameter (≈ 22 cm circumference)

Will my jewellery be hallmarked?
Yes. All my sterling silver is stamped 925, which signifies 92.5% silver purity. Pieces over 7.78 g are fully hallmarked by a UK Assay Office per UK law — that's the bench, sponsor's mark, fineness mark, Assay Office mark, and date letter, all stamped on each qualifying piece.
Lead times & shipping
How long until I get my shiny things?
It depends on whether the piece is in stock:
- In stock — ready-made, dispatched within 2 working days (usually faster).
- Made to order — anything marked “made to order” on the product page, plus custom ring sizes. Allow up to 10 working days to make and dispatch. You'll get an email when it's on its way.
If you need something urgently (because you forgot that anniversary again), drop me a line and I'll do my best to bump you up the queue.
How are orders shipped?
All UK orders go via Royal Mail from my Nottingham studio. At checkout you can choose:
- Royal Mail 2nd class — £3.50
- Royal Mail 1st class — £4.50
- Tracked 48 — £4.50
- Tracked 24 — £5.50
What about international shipping?
Get in touch with your delivery address and I'll send you a quote — international shipping is calculated case by case.
What if my order doesn't arrive?
UK orders generally arrive 2–4 working days after dispatch (longer at Christmas and peak times). If it's been longer than that, let me know and I'll investigate with Royal Mail. Tracked options give us a tracking number to follow up with.
What I want is out of stock — when will it be back?
Some items just sell out fast. For most pieces you can still order — anything marked “made to order” I'll make for you, dispatched within 10 working days. If something's truly retired and gone, the listing will say so.
Returns & exchanges
What's your return policy?
In short: 30 days, unused, in original packaging, with proof of purchase. Your order confirmation email is fine as proof.
A few important exceptions below.
Pierced earrings — no returns (sorry)
For hygiene reasons, I can't accept returns or exchanges on pierced earrings (studs, hoops, threaders, anything that goes through the ear). UK consumer law makes an explicit exception for pierced jewellery on hygiene grounds.
If a pierced earring arrives faulty or damaged, that's a different matter — get in touch and I'll sort it out.
Made-to-measure items (rings and bangles)
Pieces made to your specific measurements can't be returned, but they can be resized. If you ordered the wrong size, there's a small charge to resize. If you feel the piece you received doesn't match the size you ordered, email me and we'll work it out.
Sale and Super Seconds items
Sale items — including anything in the Super Seconds festival — are non-refundable. They're already priced to reflect any quirks or end-of-line status.
Faulty or damaged on arrival
That should never happen, but if it does — email me with your order number and a photo, and I'll replace, repair, or refund as appropriate.
How do refunds work?
Once I receive your return and check it over, I'll email to confirm and process the refund to your original payment method. Card refunds can take a few working days to land — first check your bank, then your card issuer if it's been more than a week.
Who pays return shipping?
You do, unless the piece is faulty or damaged. If you're returning something worth over £75, I'd recommend using a tracked or insured service — I can't be responsible for items lost on their way back to me.
Caring for your silver
How do I keep my silver looking shiny?
Sterling silver is a beautiful material to wear every day, but it's living metal — it reacts to air, your skin, perfumes, sweat, chlorine and sunscreen. Left ignored, it tarnishes. The good news: this is fully reversible, and a couple of small habits keep it bright with almost no effort.
The short version:
- Wear it often. Counterintuitive, but the friction of regular wear actually keeps silver bright.
- Put it on last, take it off first. After perfume, sunscreen, hairspray; before showers, swimming, the gym, or bed.
- Store it dry. A small zip-lock bag with the air squeezed out works wonders — even better with one of those little anti-tarnish strips.
- Avoid: chlorinated pools, salt water, hot tubs, harsh cleaning products, fake-tan mousse.

Gifts
Can I add a gift note?
Of course — sending happy post is one of my favourite parts of the job. Choose the gift wrap / handwritten card option at checkout and pop your message in the notes field. Don't hold back — I don't mind swears or slushiness. I'll handwrite the card and add it to your order.
Can you ship directly to the recipient?
Yes — just put their address in as the shipping address. No prices appear on the dispatch note or packaging, so it's safe to send straight to them.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes — pick any value from £10 upward in the Gift vouchers collection. They arrive as a printable card with a unique code, redeemable against anything in the shop.
Materials & sustainability
Where do you make the jewellery?
All of it, by hand, in my Nottingham studio. No factories, no minimums, no outsourcing.
What's the silver made from?
Sterling silver (92.5% pure, hence the name “925”), sourced as recycled silver wherever possible. Each piece carries a few previous lifetimes with it — spoons, other rings, industrial scraps.
What about packaging?
Plastic-free: card box, paper, anti-tarnish strip. The little extras (gift wrap, card, thank-you note) are paper or natural fibre too.
Custom orders & commissions
Do you take commissions?
Yes — if you've seen something you like elsewhere, or you've got an idea you want to bring to life, drop me a line and we'll talk through how to make it. I only work in sterling silver, but within that there's a lot of room.
Custom work is priced per project depending on time and materials.
Newsletter & discounts
Is there a discount for joining the newsletter?
Yes — sign up via the popup or the footer form and you'll get a code for free UK 2nd-class shipping on your first order. One use per customer, no expiry, use whenever you're ready.
What kind of emails will I get?
A 3-email welcome series first (introduction, jewellery care, a bit about me), and then very occasional emails when something new launches or there's a sale. I don't spam. Unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email if it gets too much.
Your data & privacy
How do I raise a data protection or privacy complaint?
Just email me at anna@nine-two-five.co.uk and tell me what's wrong. I'll acknowledge it within 30 days, look into it, and let you know the outcome. If you're not happy with how I've handled it, you can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
